Advantages of the INSTC Corridor for Cold-Chain Transit
The International North–South Transport Corridor (INSTC) offers significant advantages for the transit of temperature-sensitive goods. By reducing transport time, the corridor helps preserve product quality, extend shelf life, and minimize spoilage. Its multimodal structure—combining maritime, rail, and road transport—enables smoother cargo transfers, reduces temperature fluctuations, and supports the continuous use of refrigerated containers along the route.
The corridor also lowers logistics costs through shorter transit durations and more efficient handling procedures, making the export of perishable goods more economically viable. In addition, improved connectivity between South Asia, the Middle East, Central Asia, and Europe expands market access for agricultural, food, and pharmaceutical products.
Furthermore, standardized documentation and coordinated transit processes enhance commercial reliability and risk management for high-value cold-chain cargo. Ongoing infrastructure development, including logistics hubs and cold storage facilities, continues to strengthen regional transport capacity and supports the growth of temperature-controlled trade.

Unprecedented Velocity. Impeccable Reliability.

The development of a Cold-Chain within the International North–South Transport Corridor (INSTC), with a focus on Iran’s transit routes, plays a vital role in improving efficiency, reducing losses, and enhancing the competitiveness of this corridor. With the growing movement of temperature-sensitive goods, the expansion of standardized cold chain infrastructure has become a strategic necessity.
Recognizing this importance , Behineh Tarabar Aria  is expanding cold chain infrastructure along key transit routes. One of the company’s most significant initiatives is the construction of a dry container terminal in Incheh Borun, designed to serve as a logistics hub for destinations in the CIS countries. This initiative strengthens Iran’s role within the INSTC Corridor and facilitates the transit of temperature-controlled cargo.
The Incheh Borun Dry Port, currently under construction, is being developed on an area of over 6 hectares, based on precise planning and in compliance with international standards. Designed with a capacity exceeding 3,000 containers, the terminal incorporates dedicated cold chain and refrigerated container infrastructure, aiming to enhance logistics capabilities and facilitate the international transit of temperature-controlled and other cargo.
